The Bank and Policy Journal welcomes high-quality original research articles, review papers, policy analyses, and interdisciplinary studies written exclusively in English. The journal seeks to advance rigorous scholarly dialogue and policy-relevant research across the fields of banking, finance, economics, political economy, and related public policy studies.
To ensure a transparent, efficient, and timely editorial and peer-review process, authors are required to strictly adhere to the submission and formatting guidelines outlined below. Manuscripts that do not conform to these requirements may be returned to authors for technical revision prior to peer review.
1. Manuscript Structure
1.1. Title
The manuscript title should be concise, precise, and informative, clearly reflecting the core focus, methodology, or contribution of the study.
1.2. Author Information
For each author, provide complete and accurate details:
- Full name
- Institutional affiliation (department, institution, country)
- Academic degree(s) and current position
- Postal address
- Email address
- Telephone number (optional)
- ORCID iD (strongly encouraged for transparency and attribution)
1.3. Abstract (150–500 words)
The abstract must be written as a single, coherent paragraph and should clearly address:
- The relevance and context of the study
- Scientific novelty and originality
- Key contributions and findings
1.4. Keywords
Provide 5–8 precise keywords that accurately reflect the subject matter and facilitate indexing and discoverability.
1.5. Introduction
The introduction should outline the background of the study, define the research problem, state the objectives, and explain the academic and policy significance of the research.
1.6. Main Text (Methodology, Analysis, and Discussion)
This section should present the research design, methodology, data sources, analytical approach, results, and discussion. Subsections must be clearly structured and logically organized.
1.7. Conclusion
The conclusion should succinctly summarize the main findings, highlight theoretical and practical contributions, acknowledge limitations, and outline policy implications and directions for future research.
1.8. Acknowledgment
Authors may acknowledge individuals, institutions, or organizations that contributed to the research but do not meet authorship criteria. Funding sources must include full grant numbers.
1.9. References
A complete and accurate list of references must be provided in APA 7th edition format.
2. Formatting Requirements
File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
Line spacing: Single (1.0)
Margins: 2 cm on all sides
Text alignment: Left
Paragraph spacing: No additional spacing before or after paragraphs
Headings: Numbered hierarchical structure (e.g., 1., 1.1., 1.2.)
Length: Typically 4,000–8,000 words, including references
Figures and tables: Embedded within the text and properly titled
Authors are not required to apply final journal layout or design. All accepted manuscripts will be professionally formatted by the editorial office during the production stage.
3. Citation and Referencing Style
The Bank and Policy Journal follows APA 7th edition as the standard referencing system.
In-text Citation Examples:
APA style: (Mammadov, 1972)
Numeric style: [12, 3] (permitted for Azerbaijani authors only)

4. Acknowledgment and Funding Disclosure
Authors should clearly acknowledge:
Individuals who contributed intellectually or technically
Affiliated institutions or research centers
Financial support and funding agencies (mandatory grant numbers)
Example:
“The authors gratefully acknowledge the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Azerbaijan under Grant No. 2025-XYZ.”
5. Plagiarism, Ethics, and Research Integrity
The Bank and Policy Journal maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism and unethical research practices. All submissions are screened using iThenticate (Crossref Similarity Check) or equivalent plagiarism detection software.
Authors must:
- Submit original and unpublished work
- Properly cite all sources and data
- Avoid self-plagiarism and duplicate submissions
- Ensure the accuracy, authenticity, and transparency of data
- Confirm that all listed authors made significant contributions
- Refrain from data fabrication, falsification, or manipulation
